New Initiatives in Blockchain in NYC: Blockchain Resource Center and BigApps Competition
In the coming months, the City will launch two efforts to make New York City an accessible center for blockchain innovation:
- NYC Blockchain Resource Center: A physical hub to connect entrepreneurs to business support, mentorship, advisory services, and a community of peers to help them launch and scale new ventures. Expect to open in late summer 2018.
- BigApps Blockchain RFP: NYCEDC released an RFP (link) searching for an operator to run a blockchain challenge program that will work with New York City and State agencies to identify areas blockchain can improve their operations, then running competitions to source startups globally to pilot solutions with those agencies. Application for interested operators closes June 27th.
